What is Iron Palm and do I have to do it?
Iron-palm is what Sensei Likens is known for. It is both a technique and a training drill. It is one of the rare “closed door” secrets left in martial arts. You can find it all over the web, but 99% of these sites and programs are guesses at best. Sensei has been involved in Iron-Palm since 1991. This drill is to marital arts what nuclear fission is to bombs. It creates unexplainable power in striking and in the ability to be struck. An Iron-palm practitioner can easily kill another person with 1 blow.
For this reason, Sensei quit competing back in 1991 after placing 3rd in the state. During the early periods of training in Iron-palm the force used cannot be controlled well, Sensei did not want to accidentally hurt anyone. This and other factors are why most students will not be taught Iron-palm.
A student must be of the Highest moral
character, must train and be above average in skill, and must articulate
the reasons why they want the Iron-palm before Sensei will teach it
to them. Of Sensei’s 15 black belts only 5 have been instructed in
the art of Iron-Palm. Understand this and do not let the fear of this
keep you from choosing our school. It is a rigorous training regiment
and most would not want to do it any way. More info here!
