What are the instructor’s qualifications?

Sensei Likens has impeccable  qualifications to guide you down the path of the warrior. Starting his Budo (warrior ways) in Scottsbluff Nebraska in 1983 he has been training, learning, and teaching ever since.
He holds a 1st degree black belt in Shorei Goju Ryu, and a 6th degree in Waga-Michi Shorei Kempo. Endorsed by the Honorable Grandmaster Tsai’s Kung-fu international, He sits as a board member to the Ameri-Asian Combat Arts Federation.

The Federation is an accreditation body for certifying instructors. Sensei has taught both adults and children for over 17 years and has taken many “normal” people to black belt over the years.

He has been a police officer with the Indianapolis Police department and the Indianapolis Housing police department for over 10 years. In that time he has had numerous real life violent encounters where he has seen the fruits of his training come to harvest. The thing is some of those fruits were rotten. The point is not everything taught in Dojo’s works! Centuries of peace and the advent of the firearm stagnated and even polluted the martial arts. Instructors that had never been in real fight “invented” new techniques. While looking impressive, these techniques don’t work for real. Sensei Likens knows what works and what does not. He has even been detailed to the Indianapolis police-training academy as a defensive tactics instructor.

When you train here, you are getting the real thing!
